April, in Kroatien befragt.
Every Friday the thirteenth, employees of all Baloise international subsidiaries go out to the public to make them safer. We talked to Ljubica Perinić Staničić, an employee at Basler osiguranje Zagreb, about their plans for the upcoming Friday, 13th of April 2012.
What is your job at Basler osiguranje Zagreb?
I work as a Senior Marketing Expert in the Marketing and Corporate Communication Department. My responsibilities include internal and external communications, media relations, event management and the development of marketing materials. As regards the Safety World, I am part of the Croatian team that is in charge of the brand positioning and building the public’s emotional connection to our brand.
What have you planned for this edition of the safety day?
This edition of the Safety Day is dedicated to the education of pre-school children with the theme “Making you safer in traffic”. In cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs (Department for Road Safety) we will educate children about traffic rules and safety measures to ensure they get safely from home to school. In our creative workshop, a traffic police officer will teach kids about the traffic lights in a very fun and interactive way. He will give advice on how to cross the road in case the traffic light is out of order, how to cross the road only on pedestrian crossings, etc. The children will also get some advice on how to drive bicycles and why it is important to wear helmets and reflecting wrist bands.
The event will be organized at Saint Theresa’s Orphanage for abandoned children in Zagreb. We will donate funds for their playground so they can experience and enjoy a part of our Safety World. We are proud to host Martin Strobel, Baloise Group CEO, as our main guest who will take part along with Darko Cesar, CEO Basler osiguranje Zagreb, in our press conference. In order to attract additional media attention we are very happy to welcome Lana Jurčević, leading Croatian pop singer, who will perform her most popular songs at the event. We prepared all kinds of surprises for the children: specially designed t-shirts, branded reflecting wrist bands, balloons, coloring books and much more.
Why did you decide on these activities?
Our goal is to strengthen the position of Basler osiguranje Zagreb in Croatia as a company with a unique concept, the Safety World. Investing in a safe and happy childhood is part of our corporate philosophy through which we would like to reinforce our status of a responsible and credible partner to our local community. With our activities, we would like to support children’s health and safety.
Have you already participated in other editions of the safety day? How was the experience?
This is my fifth Safety Day in a row and I have enjoyed my role as a Safety activist every single time; whether it included educating drivers on preparing their cars for the winter conditions, educating parents on the importance of child car seats or – my favorite event last year – dedicated to teaching proper behavior in case of fire, organized in the SOS Children’s Village Lekenik.
Dear Ljubica, thank you so much for this interview.
